Part-time Tutors in Theology (Equipped to Minister)

Spurgeon’s College, Histon Hub, Cambridge

Equipped to Minister is an established, popular and highly valued course taught in London, Birmingham and Histon. It was launched in 2003 with the aim of providing high quality training for those serving in the local church. In the 15 years the course has been in existence over 680 people have attended modules from the course and the course grows in popularity each year. Although the course initially was aimed at churches from the Baptist denomination we now have people from many different church streams attending to enable them to develop their ministry in the local church or to grow in their personal discipleship. Equipped to Minister is a training course for all attendees of churches which aims to equip people to preach, to pastor and to serve in local churches. The course follows a curriculum recognised by the Baptist Union. It is a pathway of training for those seeking Union recognition as a Recognised Local Minister, or people can take individual units for their own interest and development.

Due to some natural staff changes, we are looking to recruit two part-time tutors to start in August 2024 to deliver our Equipped to Minister course at our Histon hub in Cambridge. You would be employed to teach in two of three of the curriculum areas, details of which can be found in the job information pack. You would also be required to teach on a number of Saturdays split over two years and to mark the associated assessments. It is a genuine occupational requirement that the post holder is a Christian.

If you would like to find out further information about the role and instructions on how to apply please see the Job Information Pack below.

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Thursday 4th July 2024.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 10th July 2024 at Histon Baptist Church.
