Tom Breimaier joined the team at Spurgeon’s in August, 2018. He’s originally from Cleveland, Ohio, which is the alleged birthplace of Rock and Roll. With musical stardom not in the cards, he moved to Chicago where he studied theology and history, first at the Moody Bible Institute and then Wheaton College Graduate School.

After a five year sabbatical working in the building automation industry for the German company Siemens, he studied at New College, University of Edinburgh, where he received a PhD in Ecclesiastical History. His thesis, entitled ‘The Cross in the Tabernacle: Charles Haddon Spurgeon & Biblical Hermeneutics’, was the first monograph-length investigation of Charles Spurgeon’s approach to biblical interpretation, and is under contract with IVP Academic.

Additionally, Tom is a book review editor for the Scottish Bulletin of Evangelical Theology. Outside the classroom, he can usually be found either at the cinema, a local noisy music venue, or in an increasingly futile search of the perfect coffee shop. Tom is married to Hannah, who works at a primary school teacher.
