Spurgeon’s College is pleased to have installed Pastor Rick Warren as its first honorary Chancellor.  The office of Chancellor in a university or higher educational institution is held by a distinguished individual; they are the honorary and ceremonial Head of the institution.  It is an official and ambassadorial role, in which the Chancellor will serve as a vital advocate for the vision, gospel mission and values (nationally and internationally) of Spurgeon’s College, as together the Chancellor and the College serve Almighty God by seeking to further the Great Commission in the UK context and beyond, following the example of our founder Mr Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

In April 2023, some of the Spurgeon’s College team flew over to California and installed Pastor Warren as the first Chancellor of Spurgeon’s College. The ceremony was recorded and can be watched below.

To find out more about Rick’s connection to Spurgeon’s College watch this short video below.

Listen to Rick as he explains how you can support Spurgeon’s College.

Join us as we raise up new generations of evangelical leaders to uphold Charles Haddon Spurgeon’s vision to preach the good news.

Since 1856, when Spurgeon took on his first student, we have relied on the generosity of people like you to be able to train and equip God’s men and women for mission and ministry.

Your generous gift will:

  • Empower new Gospel leaders, by cultivating a creative learning environment allowing every student to develop spiritually, academically, emotionally and socially.
  • Maximise the impact of our teaching, by delivering a relevant, structured curriculum tailored to training men and women for mission, ministry and leadership for all who wish to deepen their understanding of the Scriptures and theology.
  • Grow our Gospel influence, by developing the College’s position, in the global and diverse city of London, as a research-led, experience-based, centre of excellence delivering positive outcomes for students.
  • Deliver a Christian witness in academia, by maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards in every area of college life.

By saying yes today you will unite with us to fulfil Spurgeon’s vision for the College, with its emphasis on preaching and pastoring, its commitment to evangelism and social concern continues today, as he would have wished.
