Induction of New Principal, Rev Prof Philip McCormack MBE

Wednesday, October 11, 2017

The induction service of our new Principal, Rev Prof Philip McCormack MBE, took place on the evening of Monday 9th October. The service was held at Chatsworth Baptist Church and was preceded by a buffet meal. The induction was led by Rev Lynn Greene, General Secretary of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, with contributions from Revd Dr David Coulter CB QHC, Chaplain General of HM armed forces, Mrs Sarah King, Chair of Governors at Spurgeon's College, The Worshipful the Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Toni Letts OBE, Rev Phil Barnard and a uplifting sermon from Rev Clive Burnard.

As well as the important business of inducting our new Principal, the event served as a reaffirmation of the College's intent to maintain a LONDON PRESENCE, NATIONAL MINISTRY and GLOBAL REACH. We were reminded of how Spurgeon's College has trained over 3000 ministers, and served over 5000 churches, over the course of the last 161 years. It also has active Ministers in 35 countries worldwide.

We are very grateful to those who attended, took part in the service, or sent messages of encouragement beforehand. We are excited to see what God holds in store for the College in this next chapter of its life.
