Friday, June 16, 2017

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Rev Seidel Abel Boanerges as the new Tutor in Christian Mission and Theology at Spurgeon’s College. He has started his role this week.

Seidel is a first-class honours graduate (BA Theology) from Moorlands College, and has completed Baptist ministerial training and his Master of Theology (M.Th) in Preaching with distinction from Spurgeon’s College. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies in preaching and apologetics from the University of Chester.

After his initial studies in business management in India, Seidel worked with GE Consumer Finance as an Assistant Manager in business analytics. After moving to the UK and completing his theological education and training, he was accredited and ordained as a Baptist minister by the Baptist Union of Great Britain and joined Rosebery Park Baptist Church in Bournemouth as a Minister responsible for mission and outreach. During this time, the Lord added many people to this church through Seidel’s preaching, teaching and evangelism ministry. Later, he was called by Moorlands College to be their Development Officer where he also lectured part-time teaching apologetics and evangelism. During his time at Moorlands, he regularly spoke on a popular apologetics radio show on 90.1 Hope FM, discussing theological and contemporary issues regarding the Christian faith. After Moorlands, he joined Capernwray Bible School as their Director of Outreach and a lecturer teaching mission and apologetics.

Seidel’s reputation as a preacher, teacher and evangelist became established over the last decade as he spoke at many churches, conferences, seminars and university Christian unions. He has a rich experience in preaching, mission, evangelism and apologetics and has ministered in countries such as the UK, USA, India, Romania and Italy.

Seidel is currently a member of the Baptist Union Council. In the past, he served the Baptist Union of Great Britain as a member of the Racial Justice Working Group, Younger Leader’s Forum and a few other tutoring and teaching roles. He is married to Linda and loves to play cricket and badminton.
