Ethics and the Christian Community

MTh pathway in Biblical and Theological Studies
COURSE UNIT 761

UNIT DESCRIPTION

The residential study time is used for guided discussion both of the distinctive nature of Christian ethics and of some of the issues confronting and challenging the contemporary church considered in the light of this appropriately theological foundation. During the remainder of the unit, candidates consider the theological appropriateness of ethical responses to specific issues arising within the Christian community in which they participate. These reflections will be expressed within a project, submitted as the assessment for this unit, which, beginning with the account of a specific pastoral story or situation, will identify the questions raised by this anecdote and respond to such in a manner that demonstrates an informed and perceptive theological understanding.
