The library is a comprehensive resource for all matters relating to C H Spurgeon and contains, as you would expect, a complete set of his sermons and other writings. Some of the more precious volumes are held in the CH Spurgeon Archive and Heritage Room with a collection of early English Bibles kindly donated by the Philpot family. Other important artefacts related to Spurgeon are also held here.
However, as a modern student and research scholar you will be well provided for in the library that is recognised as one of the outstanding libraries of its kind in London. Approximately 1,000 books are added to the library each year. In addition, the reference section of the library contains over 120 current Journal titles. The Library Catalogue is fully computerised and can be accessed over the Internet. A wireless network operates throughout the Library.
Because of pressure on study places, it may not always be possible to allow access to the Library to external users. If you wish to use the library you should apply in advance of a visit to the Librarian, Judy Powles (email Judy). If space is available, the Library is open to visitors onThursdays between 9am and 4 pm and Fridays between 9am and 1pm in term time. A small charge is made to use the library facilities for those who are not students of the College.
