How to apply
How to Apply

Taking that first step means being sure both of your calling to mission and ministry and that Spurgeon's College is the right place for you. If you are considering the Baptist ministry please click here for details of what you need to do.

Your church leaders can help you discern God’s will as you speak with them about your calling. We usually accept students only with the recommendation of their church leadership.

The next step is to complete and submit the application form and come for an interview at the College. If you are married, we invite your spouse to be fully involved by coming with you.

You need to make the right decision about serving God. We want to do all we can to help you. This could be one of the most important decisions you ever make and this is why you may want to start the process by coming to one of our Open Days and speaking informally to a member of staff.

Once you have been accepted on a course at Spurgeon's College you may qualify for financial assistance from your Local Education Authority. This applies to all our undergraduate courses whether full or part-time, but only to UK citizens who have not received previous Higher Education grants or assistance.

Deadlines

The deadlines for receiving applications from those who wish to start in autumn 2010 are as follows:

Full-time undergraduate BD and BTh courses: 30 July 2010
Taught master's courses: 1 September 2010
One day a week undergraduate courses: 1 September 2010
Visa students on any course: 2 July 2010

Students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA)

If you are considering applying to Spurgeon's College and you live outside the EEA you will need to obtain a visa which will enable you to study in the UK. The UK Border Agency has introduced new regulations and you need to look carefully at their website (click here) to see what is required of you.  Because of these new regulations you need to make sure that you apply to the College in good time.  Please get your application in by 2 July in order to start your course in late September.

If you are already in the UK and your visa expires before the end of August, then you will need to apply from your home country as the regulations state that visas will not be granted where more than a month has elapsed between the expiry of a current visa and the start of another course.

Please contact Sarah Prior our Admissions Administrator who will be delighted to speak to you and help in whatever way she can.
