Mrs Anne Kemp Centre for Continuing Development in Ministry Spurgeon's College South Norwood Hill London SE25 6DJ a.kemp@ spurgeons.ac.uk
This is a high quality course for Christian leaders of any denomination offered by Spurgeon’s in conjunction with Claybury International. 2011-12 will be the final year of the course in its present form and will follow the theme of personal and professional development. Interested colleagues are strongly urged to take full advantage of this year.
The Centre for Continuing Development in Ministry (CCDM) was established in 2002 to offer practical in-service training to ministers by stimulating personal growth and skill development. Over the years the course has proven its value to those involved in pastoral leadership. Recent reports have highlighted two needs of ministers today. The first is the need for greater levels of support and investment for the ongoing health of ministers; the second is the need to take ministerial development seriously as a life-long process. CCDM helps meet both needs. It offers personal and professional development without the requirement to undertake formal training. With CCDM, Spurgeon's has complemented its postgraduate courses to provide a more skill-orientated, non-assessed course. If you have at least three years pastoral experience and want to avoid the hazards of ministry, this course was designed with you in mind.
The course aims: -
The course will operate on a one-day a month basis for eight months of the year, beginning with coffee at 9.30am and ending promptly at 4.00pm. Trainers on this course include Colin Buckland and Andy Gilbert of Claybury International and Dr Viv Thomas of Formation. CCDM is available for members of all denominations. Ministers of other denominations are encouraged to apply for assistance to their own in-service training funds. Please apply using the form available from the download section of this website.
