John E. Colwell BD PhD

John Colwell joined the staff at Spurgeon’s College in 1994 where initially he was responsible for the setting up of the Master’s course in Applied Theology. Between 1995 and 1996 he was tutor in Systematic Theology and since 1996 he has been tutor in Christian Doctrine and Ethics. Having served as Dean from 1999 until 2002 he continues as Director of post-graduate studies. John supervises research in areas of historical, systematic, philosophical and pastoral theology.

John maintains a broad general interest in questions of hermeneutics and epistemology but is especially concerned to explore the integration of doctrine, ethics, and the spiritual disciplines.
